Yes, I love The Weepies. Alright, so today is Tuesday. It's been a few days since I've blogged about anything...mainly because I've been wicked busy and every time I had some time to write something, I didn't feel like doing it. First things first though...my girlfriend brought to my attention that the aforementioned 1950's Red Sox pennant was discovered by her, not me.
Give honor where honor is due, eh? Also, congratulations to all you Cheese Heads out there who may be reading this. I actually had no horse in that race, seeing how the Pats weren't in it, I was just excited for the commercials (which I wasn't terribly impressed with this year), but I went for Green Bay because I hate the Steelers...and I like the Packers history. So, Go Pack! ...is that what you guys say??
So, on another note...I came up with an idea for a children's book yesterday while cashing a customer out at IGA. Does anyone really know where dandelions got their name? I bet you don't...but I do! Well, I came up with the story in my head and I told it to my roommate when I got home...he thought it was stupid, but he doesn't really count because he's a Michigander (as I've been told that's what those people are called). I still have yet to tell it to my girlfriend and her roommates, one of which is an elementary school teacher who sings about monkeys and alligators, so we'll see how it works on a group of future mothers and an elementary school teacher.
One more thing before I go write this "think sheet" that I've been putting of for my Lit class tomorrow..."Oh wait, there's MORE!?" you say. Why yes there is! Today, my friend Owen Pye has released a single off of his new record, The Truth About Man that's releasing on February 22nd! Along with the single, he's posted a stop-motion video produced and directed by none other than Lucas Harger (the Michigander I mentioned earlier) and Owen's lovely wife, Jillian! It's amazing and you should check it out! The single is available on iTunes and you can watch the stop-motion video right here. Ahh, well...I need to get going and write this paper, I still have much to accomplish before I go to bed tonight and get up at 5 for work...yes, people are awake in some parts of the world at that God-forsaken hour. As The Weepies so eloquently put it...the world spins madly on.
I think you need to write this children's book here so me, a mother of 3 children that adore you, can read it and give it my seal of approval!
